A Summer For Love Blog Hop - My Summer Lovin' Readin' List

Summer, that magical time of year when school buses and homework give way to summer camp and fireflies.  The onslaught of pollen has finally dissipated, leaving us to enjoy the warm night air, lounging on the deck, watching the sun set.   There are barbeques, trips to the amusement park, countless hours spent at the pool, and afternoons filled with sprinklers and water balloons. And then, if I’m lucky, there are a handful of lazy, hazy days when all I really want to do is bask of the warmth of the sun, listen to crash of the waves as the pound they beach, and read.

Captive by Samantha Jacobey (Book 1 of A New Life Series)

As I finished this book, my first thought was that this story is not for the faint of heart. It reminded me in some ways of A Child Called It by Dave Peltzer in that the details of the treatment and abuse of the story’s main character, Tori, were horrific and despicable.  The few examples of kindness she experienced in her life are all the more bittersweet because sometimes she has to do unimaginable things just to survive.

The Ascendent Series: Double Cover Reveal

We are so excited to be a part of the double cover reveal for one of our favorite authors, Raine Thomas! As if the first cover in the series wasn't enough to make you stop short and take a look, the covers for the next two books are nothing short of gorgeous!

The two new covers are for Rout of the Dem-Shyr and Rise of the Faire-Amanti, books 2 & 3 of  the new adult, sci-fi romance storylines of  The Ascendant Series.

The series is published by Iambe Books, LLC and the covers designed by the amazing Regina Wamba of Mae I Design.

Book 2,  Rout of the Dem-Shyr is due out in July, 2014 and Rise of the Faire-Amanti is expected in Nov, 2014.
